In 1983, at age 28, Robert A. Green, CPA, left Big Eight accounting firm Ernst & Whinney—now Ernst & Young (EY)—to establish Green & Company CPAs. The firm’s first office was at 522 Fifth Avenue at 43rd Street in New York City, in the J.P. Morgan building. Its initial clients included successful traders, money managers, and brokers in the securities, futures, and foreign-exchange markets.

In 1997, Green & Company CPAs and the newly formed Green & Company, Inc., owner of GreenTraderTax.com, helped lead the online-trading revolution by advising traders on the new trader tax laws enacted that year. The remarkable growth of the Internet prompted us to expand our business model from a private boutique CPA firm serving a small, affluent client base to a nationwide practice accommodating thousands of traders, hedge fund managers, and other clients worldwide.

Green & Company has grown consistently while maintaining quality control and meeting the needs of its expanding clientele.

In January 2012, Darren Neuschwander, CPA, became a co-managing member of the newly formed Green NFH, LLC. Adam Manning, CPA, was admitted as a member in 2014, and the firm was renamed Green, Neuschwander & Manning, LLC (GNM) in 2015. Mr. Neuschwander has been an integral part of GreenTraderTax since 2002, bringing extensive experience and expertise to the firm.

Effective January 1, 2022, GNM’s managing members are Darren L. Neuschwander, CPA, and Adam W. Manning, CPA.

Mr. Green sold his ownership interest in GNM to Adam Manning, CPA, on December 31, 2021. Green & Company, Inc. (GreenTraderTax.com) markets GNM’s professional services. Mr. Green focuses on GreenTraderTax.com, blog posts, webinars, tax guides, and significant developments in trader tax law, compliance, and planning.
