This is a partial payment and minimum price for our tax compliance (planning/preparation) service for your S-Corp's federal and state tax returns.

We offer this tax compliance service to returning S-Corp clients who are not traders.

Choose this service if you had a general partnership, LLC (limited liability company) or C-Corp that filed an S-Corp election on time and received an IRS letter granting S-Corp status. LLCs and general partnerships in all but eight states can file S-Corp elections by March 15 or within 75 days of inception.

We suggest you also sign up for our individual tax compliance service as important matters — including officer's compensation, pass-through of Schedule K-1 income, loss and expense and reporting tax liability or use of net losses — are applied on your individual tax returns.

The following traders should consider our S-Corp tax compliance service (we have separate categories for traders and investment managers including management companies):

  • Small businesses using an S-Corp structure.
  • Those who house investments in an entity classified as an S-Corp.

Other items to consider:

  • A partnership passes through earned income to owners whereas an S-Corp does not. An S-Corp with earned income activities needs reasonable compensation paid to officer/owners.
  • A partnership can have special allocations whereas an S-Corp can not.
  • Passive activities are subject to passive-activity loss limitations.
  • 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act's 20% deduction on qualified business income (QBI) in pass-through entities. There are phase-outs for owners of service businesses, and wage and property limitations for all types of companies. It's wise to do year-end tax planning to maximize this 20% QBI deduction.
