Robert A. Green, CPA, founded and managed two CPA firms dedicated to serving traders—Green, Neuschwander & Manning, LLC (GNM), and Green & Company CPAs—establishing a national reputation for leadership and innovation in trader tax compliance and planning.

He is also the founder, owner, and CEO of Green & Company, Inc. and the creator of GreenTraderTax.com. Widely regarded as the leading authority on trader tax, Mr. Green is a past Forbes contributor and a prominent educator in the trading industry.

He is the author of The Tax Guide for Traders (McGraw-Hill, 2004) and the annually published Green’s Trader Tax Guide, the industry’s most trusted resource for active traders and tax professionals. WORK EXPERIENCE AT GREEN & COMPANY

In 1983, Mr. Green left Big Four accounting firm Ernst & Whinney—now Ernst & Young (EY)—to establish Green & Company CPAs. The firm’s first clients were money managers and brokers in the foreign exchange market, an international marketplace. From 1983 until the emergence of the Internet in 1995, Green & Company operated as a boutique firm serving high-net-worth entrepreneurs in the New York City area.

In 1997, Green & Company helped lead the online-trading revolution by adopting the new tax laws enacted that year. The remarkable growth of the Internet prompted the company to expand its business model from a private boutique CPA firm serving a small, affluent client base to a nationwide practice accommodating traders across the country. Green & Company has grown consistently while maintaining quality control and meeting the needs of its expanding clientele.

Mr. Green launched GreenTraderTax.com in early 1997, when Congress changed the tax laws to create new tax benefits for traders, including Section 475 mark-to-market accounting—what Mr. Green refers to as “tax loss insurance.” Since then, GreenTraderTax.com has been a leader in the trader tax market.
